Fanwort

Solitude Lake Management of Shrewsbury will be on Long Lake again tomorrow, July 7, for their second visit this year. This time they will be treating the lake for Fanwort. Back on May 16 they addressed Milfoil & Curly Leaf Pondweed - conditions were not right to handle the Fanwort at that time.

The Town Beach will be open and swimming there will be unrestricted. No treatment is needed in the vicinity of the beach. Good deal.

Restrictions will apply to the rest of the lake. No swimming (beyond the Town Beach), and no boating or fishing for one day. Parks & Rec will have signs posted at the Boat Launch. No sailing or boat rentals until Friday. Sorry to those swimmers among you who are practicing for the Appleman Triathlon. Signs will also be posted around the lake. I hope this doesn't impact your plans.
