Honoring Danny

This spring we lost a true friend, Danny Lord.

Danny was no ordinary man. Aside from being a son, a husband to Linda, a brother to his siblings, and undoubtedly a terrific uncle to his nieces and nephews, he was also a great friend and neighbor. In addition, he was one of the best at sporting those colorful high-top Converse sneakers while out walking his buddy Hastings. Though he was a man of few words, he had no problem getting his point across. He was an active member of the Long Lake Neighborhood Association, and stayed on, God bless him, as treasurer year after year, always showing up to meetings and events though there had to be times he wasn't feeling up to it. Danny was a man of dedication and commitment, someone you could count on.

Though he was slight in stature Danny proved what a strong man he was. He knew the gamble he was taking when he opted to undergo the transplant, but he took it on and fought with will and determination. We should all walk away today not only keeping Danny in our hearts but remembering how blessed we are to be here and how fortunate we are to have known him, may his spirit live on. Last but not least, in honor of Danny... GO CELTICS!!!!
